Graphic design
Graphic design is the process of communicating visually using typography and images to present information. Graphic design practice embraces a range of cognitive skills, aesthetics and crafts, including typography, visual arts and page layout. Like other forms of design, graphic design often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.
The objective of this course is to train students in the terminology and skills needed to work as a Desktop Publishers.
Students in this course design and produce basic-level design projects. Projects are assigned, assessed at midpoint and critiqued when finished. Students become familiar with the Graphic Design profession, job opportunities, requirements, income ranges, talents and skills necessary to be competitive in the field. Students study graphic design and explore the nature of today's professional environment.
